 As you might expect, the Clubhouse has been exceptionally busy over the past few days.
Preparations for the Open began several weeks ago with a programme of club refurbishment. This involved internal redecoration and investment in new furniture and fittings. The Club also responded to requests for corporate hospitality and has welcomed guests from a number of local and national companies. The Golf Club has attracted considerable media interest and Club Captain Alex Brown and Match Secretary Joe Gourlay have been busy responding to requests for media interviews from, for example, The Times and the Golf Channel. BBC Sport also requested permission to interview two of golf’s legendary figures - Severiano Ballesteros and Nick Faldo earlier in the week. On Tuesday 17th July 2007, we were delighted to welcome to the Clubhouse, senior representatives from the Australian PGA.  Australian Visitors Mr Max Garske (Chief Executive Officer, PGA of Australia); Mr John Dunlop (General Manager, Commercial Business and Marketing); and Mr Phil Ayres, (General Manager, Member Business and Services).
